Cinema

Our cinema, Centrumbiografen, was built in the 1930s and is situated in the centre of Mellerud, on Storgatan.
It was the accountant of the municipality Carl A Olsson, born in 1877 died in 1940, who had the cinema built. He also ran it himself. It was on opened in 5 December 1935 when it showed ”Swedenhjelms”, a film based on a famous Swedish novel. At the start it was called ”Centrum Cinema" and it is told that Olsson employed young girls who, dressed in national costumes with the help of torches showed visitors to their seats.
